A Day of Unforgettable Fun: From Boulon Brunch to Ybor City Shenanigans

Writer: Ray ArteagaRay Arteaga

Kicking off my wife's birthday bash at Boulon in Tampa was a no-brainer. The spot's known for its killer brunch and the kind of vibes that set the day right. Plus, rocking my Chubbies outfit, I was feeling all kinds of comfortable and ready for whatever the day had in store. You know, there's just something about that perfect blend of style and comfort that gets you in the right headspace for a day of adventure. Post-brunch, feeling adventurous and looking sharp, we hopped on the trolley at Channelside and made our way to Ybor City for a little karaoke action at the Double Decker.

Karaoke Kings and Queens

The Double Decker was our next stop, and the place was buzzing. My son Allen and his girlfriend showed up, adding to the fun, and Zavier's girlfriend decided to join the party too. The vibe was electric, and the drinks were just as we liked them—tasty and well-priced, setting the stage for an epic sing-along.

Brandi took the stage with "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey, and man, did she bring the house down. With her amazing voice, it was one of those stop-and-listen moments that rocked the house.

Cigars, Live Music, and Those Magical Patches

After our karaoke fame, we strolled over to Sterling Cigar Bar. Lounging on the patio, enjoying the night, sipping on sublime drinks, and indulging in some fine cigars—it was the perfect way to catch our breath. Yet, the day was far from over.

We ended our epic day at the Southern Belle, soaking in some live music and enjoying a few more rounds. It was the perfect capstone to a day filled with joy, laughter, and good company.

And let’s not forget those hangover patches—without them, Lisa and I would’ve been feeling the aftermath hard the next day. But nope, we woke up feeling great, ready to tackle another day. Those patches are legit lifesavers.

The Wrap-Up

Reflecting on this incredible day—from the comfortable start in my Chubbies at Bouillon's brunch to the wild karaoke session at Double Decker, the relaxed vibe at Sterling Cigar Bar, and the live tunes at the Southern Belle—I’m just filled with gratitude. Big thanks to Allen and his girlfriend for joining in, and Zavier's girlfriend for catching up with us. It’s days like these that remind you what life’s all about: making memories with the people you love, in places that turn those moments into something truly special.

Here’s to more adventures, more memorable spots in Tampa, and yes, a special shoutout to those hangover patches that made the next day just as bright. Cheers to the memories, the laughs, and looking forward to the next great day out.
